Structural Renovation of Existing Memorials

Over time, ground movement, weathering and general wear can affect the structural integrity of a memorial. A leaning headstone, loose kerbing, cracked bases or failing fixings are not just cosmetic concerns — they can present a safety hazard and may result in a cemetery authority placing a restriction notice on the memorial.

Our BRAMM-accredited masons carry out all structural renovation work in compliance with the National Association of Memorial Masons standards, ensuring every memorial is safe, secure and properly fixed once the work is complete.

We can often combine renovation work with cleaning, renewal or additional inscriptions in a single visit, saving time and keeping disruption to a minimum.

  • Re-fixing of leaning or unstable headstones
  • Repair and re-pointing of kerbed surrounds
  • Base and foundation repairs
  • Replacement of broken or missing components
  • Work carried out to BRAMM and NAMM standards
  • Combined visits with cleaning or inscription work

If a memorial has been issued with a safety restriction notice, please contact us as soon as possible — we can arrange an assessment and carry out the necessary work to have the restriction lifted.
